The 2008 Envoy is available in SLE, SLT and Denali trim levels. The SLE and SLT trims are powered by a 291-horsepower, 4.2-liter, inline-6 engine; while the Denali gets a 302-horsepower, 5.3-liter, V-8 engine. All trims offer a choice of rear-wheel or four-wheel drive. Fuel economy for the two-wheel-drive Envoy is rated at 14/20 mpg (city/highway). The six-cylinder Envoy can tow a maximum of 5,800 pounds, while the V-8 can tow 6,600 pounds. Both engines are equipped with cylinder deactivation technology that shuts down four cylinders under light load conditions. |
Body and Styling |
The 2008 Envoy incorporates modern and traditional features. The Envoy's roomy cabin seats five. Brushed metallic accents give the interiors a polished look. The Denali wears wood-tone accents. The rear seat is split 60/40 and folds for cargo loading. The maximum cargo capacity is 80 cubic feet. The SLE comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a CD player, dual-zone air conditioning, full power accessories, satellite radio, keyless entry and OnStar telematics.
